Empty Streets to Festive Market!
Michael Mathers attended nearly every Astoria Sunday Market the first half of the 2011 season and countless hours photographing the Market from set-up to tear-down to create this wonderful time-lapsed movie from his still images of the Market. Astoria Sunday Market is located in the heart of Astoria’s historic downtown on 12th Street spanning four blocks from Marine Drive (Highway 30) to Exchange Street. Astoria, Oregon, is perched along the Columbia River where river and ocean merge. The green hillside of Washington State offers a majestic backdrop to the river traffic and bustle of Astoria’s waterfront.
