We are busy preparing for another amazing season.  We are excited about the new art by James Dunbar.  His image reflects our theme this year, “The Color of Fresh!”   Astoria Sunday Market is a visual delight from the produce and flower stands to our nearly 200 craft, artist and food vendors.

Vendors:  The 2016 application will be available to download online by the end of January.  Returning vendors will be mailed a hard copy by mid-January.

bizkidYoung Entrepreneurs & Biz Kidz:  An Open House is scheduled for January 26 starting at 6 pm.  The meeting is at the 4-H Club House at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds located in the parking lot across the street (near the foot bridge). This will be an introduction to the Young Entrepreneur’s Club where the members make products and sell them at the Astoria Sunday Market.  Kids grades K – 12 are welcome to join.  This year we will be holding a “Boot Camp” session on March 12th that will encompass 4 workshop topics in one day.  This will replace some monthly sessions.  Members are again encouraged to attend the vendor luncheon in April and the June “Getting Ready to GO’ meeting prior to selling.  Returning members need to have their enrollment paperwork in by Jan 31 to show at fair.  Thank you to our sponsors Recology Western Oregon and Clatsop Community Bank.  Registration forms for being a Biz Kid will be available at the Open House.  The Boot Camp and other training are free programs thanks to our sponsors.

Musicians:  We will begin booking music for 2016 in February.  Please note:  Preference will be given to musicians and bands that can perform 100% original work.  We look for upbeat fun music.  Email information about your band with a few samples of your music or link to a webpage featuring samples to AstoriaSundayMarket@charter.net.

James Dunbar Artist
The Painter of Colorful Memories
His heavily sculptured oils and bold use of color composition have earned him the reputation of a highly sought after commissioned artist. He has been featured in several Portland area galleries including Forever Art, Schaffer’s Fine Art Gallery, and the Lawrence Gallery in Sheridan Oregon’s wine country. James is from Portland and will be at Astoria Sunday Market opening day.

Michael Mathers attended nearly every Astoria Sunday Market the first half of the 2011 season and countless hours
photographing the Market from set-up to tear-down to create  this wonderful time-lapsed movie from his still images of the Market.
Michael is a professional photographer and created this movie as a personal project. Enjoy!

Astoria Sunday Market is located in the heart of Astoria’s historic downtown on 12th Street spanning four blocks from Marine Drive (Highway 30) to Exchange Street.  Astoria, Oregon, is perched along the Columbia River where river and ocean merge.  The green hillside of Washington State offers a majestic backdrop to the river traffic and bustle of Astoria’s waterfront.
