JOIN THE ADVENTURE!
The Astoria Bicentennial Celebration kicks off on Saturday, May 21, 2011, with a Heritage Festival. Join the adventure and be part of making history. As a participant you will be sharing an important part of America’s heritage – past and present.
We’re seeking vendors who can share their heritage through their dress, food, traditional art, crafts, or entertainment. We are seeking vendors who can help make this a memorable experience so encourage creative booth displays and culturally significant products.
Astoria, Oregon, is the oldest US settlement west of the Rockies and has a rich and interesting heritage. We want to represent all those cultures that have shaped our community.
The Heritage Festival takes place on 10th and Astor Streets in downtown Astoria along the Columbia River. We’ll be closing 10th and Astor streets and incorporating the new Chinese Garden into the Festival. There will be up to fifty booths for crafts and food as well as live entertainment featuring the Portland Taiko Drummers, Northwest Dragon & Lion Dance Team, the Viking Dancers, Wilho Saari, and the Vancouver Pipe Band, among others.
The Cultural Committee is comprised of volunteers and is responsible for producing the Heritage Festival. All applications will be reviewed by the Committee so we recommend including photos of your product. Click HERE to download an vendor application.
We look forward to hearing from you! If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me anytime at 503-325-1010 or by email at AstoriaSundayMarket@charter.net.
